so we separated the boys' bunkbeds today while jax was at school. we thought he'd be excited when he saw it, but obviously that was not the case!

Aww, poor Jax! We should have really talked up the un-bunked bunk beds while he was here! He probably didn't even notice that the girls' were unbunked when he was busy playing on them!
So....did they stay that way or did you guys have mercy on the poor guy and give him his own bed back???
ahhh... poor jax. i'm glad you got it on video though, that was priceless. "what did you do!?" "i didn't want this!" i'm sure the new arrangement will grow on him, and someday he won't even remember that they were bunked.
It brought tears to my eyes to see how sad Jax was... I hope he got over it quickly.
