A great long weekend

This weekend has been very busy, but one of the best weekends we've had in a long time. On Friday Jaxon turned 4 years old and, with a lot of influence from Nana, had a fiesta party. And by fiesta I mean that we had nachos for dinner and beat the crap out of a pinata. It was a fairly small party; therefore, we didn't have to worry about people getting whacked. That pinata put up quite a fight, but Jojo finally put it out of it's misery and showered candy all over the place.

Saturday was sod-tastic!!!! We had a great amount of helpers, and it would be unjust to not publicly name and thank them. Scotty, Keith, Jonathan, Blake, Jordan- THANKS A TON! With them and all the helpers from the other families we laid down a quarter mile of sod on Saturday. Nothing short of awesome. Our building supervisor said that was the fastest sodding he had seen in 20 years of experience. It was a whole lot of fun because everybody was working hard and laughing hard. It really has made me thankful for the great neighbors that we have and the chance to build some strong relationships with them. Saturday was a boys' night, at least
for dinner. Scotty, Jonathan, Keith, Blake and I went to Little Tokyo and enjoyed some sushi and stuff. I finally got to try some raw sushi. I went safe and just had the tuna roll, pretty good.
Sunday we re-celebrated Jaxon's birthday with a trip to the Pacific Science Center because they were having a model train show. He loved it more than we could have thought. That is a really good place to spend a weekend, too much to take in for only one day. Dinosaurs, trains, butterflies, space stuff, bugs, on and on and on. I can't wait until we have a full weekend to just play.

Welcome to the neighborhood

Usually a person is supposed to be greeted by his/her neighbors, but I'm not the kind of people to sit around and wait. So, here I am welcoming myself to the world of blogging. I figured everybody else is doing this blog thing, so why not the Dahlstrom crew? There will be more to follow, for now I gotta go watch Top Chef.
